Meet Jessica…
Support Coordinator
With four years of experience in the disability support industry, I’ve gained a strong understanding of the day-to-day experiences, challenges and achievements of people living with disability. I chose to become a Support Coordinator because I wanted to make a greater difference in people’s lives. I genuinely enjoy meeting new people, building meaningful connections, and helping others work towards their goals.
Before moving into the support industry, I spent many years working in the corporate world. After having my twins, finding a career that offered a better work-life balance while still allowing me to help others became important to me. My corporate background gave me strong problem-solving and organisational skills, which I’ve found translate naturally into Support Coordination. I enjoy thinking creatively, working through challenges, and finding practical solutions.
I’m a people person who loves a good conversation and building genuine relationships. I believe that taking the time to listen, understand what is important to each person, and build trust is at the heart of effective support. I enjoy helping individuals and families navigate challenges, connect with the right people, and feel more confident in making decisions about their lives.
Outside of work, I enjoy creative hobbies such as crocheting, knitting, and sewing. I’m also a keen reader and love puzzles and gaming, so I’m always happy to find a shared interest and have a chat!
My ultimate goal as a Support Coordinator is to work myself out of a job. I want to help each person build a strong team around them, develop the confidence and skills to make their own decisions, and feel empowered to take the lead in their own life and supports. For me, success is knowing that my clients feel capable, confident, and supported — with me there when they need me and cheering them on from the sidelines when they don’t.
